‘VENDOR FEATURE’ Alora Boutique

Resilience | Large Delta Pendant Necklace | Recycled Brass $56

Feels Good on Your Skin & On Your Mind.

I had been hearing about and seeing their jewelry online. I finally got to see (and purchase) their designs while visiting the Junction, the sea can market in #YYC's East Village, this summer. Not only super CUTE but ethically made, sourced and supported. There is so much goodness to share about this family business.

For starters, each piece of Alora jewelry is designed by Jameela, (come meet her at the studio this weekend!). Alora, in the Bantu language, means "My Dream" which is exactly where it all started for this family run business. From their family kitchen table and the intention of creating meaningful pieces that would make a difference in the world; they are now in 40+stores across Canada and making a huge difference.

They don't believe in just cash donation (5% of proceeds), they teach women the skills to empower them to become independent. They support the Calgary and international community through their jewelry making workshops and source some materials from women in Ghana. Jump to the link to learn more about their community involvement.

You get to wear locally gorgeous designed jewelry. Which is made and sourced, ethically, which supports local and global women. #nobrainer LOVE LOVE LOVE!
